Re: more underwater and rockpool rings and pendants
They're gorgeous MizG. Which one's set with gilding metal please? I've got me stupid head on (or tiddlypom).
Re: more underwater and rockpool rings and pendants
From the reflection, I would guess that it's the one in the middle

Lovely as always MizG.
Interested in the bail on the back of the gilded one - tubing or do you 'roll ya own'?
Never used gilded metal so will be doing a bit of reading up there.

Thanks you lot for the nice comments
The bails are tubular. Sometimes I cut them from bought tube, but I generally make my own with sheet and a swage block.
I like working with gilding metal - it's more like sterling in terms of working properties than copper, and is traditionally used for making mockups and for a lot of finished pieces like medallions and ornamental designs. It needs a lot of polishing effort to get the lovely golden colour back after working with heat, which results in it looking very like copper. Luckily, I quite like polishing.
They went off to Holland for the Flame On (the Dutch version of our Flame Off). I'm very much hoping not all of them will be coming home tomorrow.....
