Facebook and Twitter.
I use both Facebook and Twitter as my marketing tool. When I upload a new item on folksy or etsy I put a link on my fanpage on Facebook and it automatically goes on twitter. These are great tools for marketing. I had a website back in 2004 and sold very little via it. When I opened my folksy stores and Etsy Store I've sold a good amount.
Does anyone else have any ideas or platforms that would be good for marketing our work?

I was given a link to a place that you can sync your Twitter announcements, ideal if you use Etsy or if you don't want to post everything at once. hmm can't find the link at the mo but I will see if I can find it soon.
Re: Facebook and Twitter.
You can use an app within flikr that syncs to Twitter, and I also noticed that Julie (Lush) has an automatic update on FB when she uploads to flikr.
Julie really rates flikr as a selling tool, although I guess you need to get the followers and have the market reputation that she has, but a good one to have under your hat.
There's Google+, which is Googles answer to FB, I'm on it, but have 3 friends - hubby, Mooch and one of my best mates, so nobody there I don't talk to on a regular basis anyway so I haven't really investigated that fully.
What about Linkedin, has anyone experience of this, or is it just for the business world? I had a short profile when I was office based but now I'm doing this full time I pulled it down.

Re: Facebook and Twitter.
When I was working for a company I used LinkedIn and still connect occasionally, mainly to keep in touch with people in the IT world and the "groups". It is very business oriented and if I ever need to look for another job then LinkedIn is where I would go first.

Found the link I was looking for. http://www.socialoomph.com/ there is a free account and a professional account. The free account let's you do lots of things with Twitter like plan your tweets set when you want them sent out then you just forget, it does it for you. There are some other handy tools like URL shortening.

Hello
I have starting using twitter a lot more and I have gone form 2 followers to 45 in the space of 24 hours.... I have a lot of weird people form around the globe who I don't know and their profile description is not very descriptive! So I don't know whether to block them or not as they may be genuinely interested in my lampwork! lol! I noticed some of you use TrueTwit, is it worth using to protect who follows you? I was a bit concerned that some people cannot be bothered with it and genuine customers or fans (!) would not go through the process!
