Re: September Challenge
Tinker, the focal beads is great, as has been said, the Monet inspiration is very clear in your piece, lovely.
Odonata, anyone would be proud to wear that necklace, the worry that you have over the working being 100% yours, in my view, has no foundation. You still had to design the necklace, it is beautiful.
Cornish, did you make those fire opal beads? I can't remember. Your entry is also beautiful, I feel for the poor bugger that has to decide on who the winner will be.
My beads haven't quite worked out, but I'll have another bash today.
Good luck ladies of the sparkly stuff

Two really lovely entries from Cornish & Odonata. I am really glad that I don't need to decide between them. Love the Pre-Raphaelite look - it's very much like one of the chatelaines in the V&A, but I also adore spirals...
Re: September Challenge
They are lovely entries. I just couldn't get my head into or around this one

Re: September Challenge
Awh thanks for that girls.
But..OMFG! Cornish! That's just bloody lovely. Amazing how those coppery beads now look purple. They're incredible colour changing beads. I just love that necklace and if I wore copper I'd snap that up of of you (if I had any cash ). Looking forward to seeing more entries in the next 2 days

Re: September Challenge
Don't hold ya breath Tink's, got trouble with my HH, have made some beads, but they've been looking like there's carbon in there somewhere.
Today it was quite hot here in sunny o'l Fairlight, i was sat there at me torch, when the flame suddenly went bigger and a lot quieter. Initially I thought, bonus! no bleeding ears tonight. But then, now this will sound odd, the flame was, how do I say, slowly getting bigger then the rim of the nozzle, catch my drift.......
I became quite and turned the thing off mid bead
I think after months of no use maybe I should have cleaned it. Have just read some blurb on the makers site and it says if the flame misbehave's then it may need cleaning, so I will clean it.

Re: September Challenge
Dubble ed.
I know this has turned into a thread about lampworking but this is where my sorry story began
Soooooooooo, undid said HH, have done this before, but forgot that it has to be done on quite a regular basis, due to the additive they put in the propane, so we don't gas ourselves.
Well, what I found was something that looked like a rubber washer Blimey one said to oneself, not sure that's right. umed and rrr'ed for a while, then thought, no this can't be right, so i got it out, then set about cleaning the poor HH up. And now she's purring.
the moral of this story be...
when ones beads are looking smoky, don't be a sieve head Batty, get cleanig...
I'm getting there, if I don't manage this monthly, then i'll pop it in the show and tell, hopfully
good night Vienna

Monet & Pre-Raphaelite Influenced Loom Woven Bracelet

I spent all day yesterday at this, after giving up the night before at my torch.
The picture could be better, but at this late stage it is the best I could do.
It's woven on my very in-expensive Indian beading loom £7.99 from local craft shop.
The dangles ( Carnelian ) and finishing off are completed off loom.
Question for you ladies (and gents if there be any)
This took me most of the day to make, 7 hours plus, yes I know, a long o'l process, if I wanted to sell, how much would one sell for? Please private message me on this one.
Thanks and Good luck to all

This is a great challenge and has really brought out some amazing work. I love everything! I would have loved to join in, but I don't think I can use Photobucket. I will have to get myself sorted out for October's challenge.

The bracelet is really pretty Batty, I just love the little purple flowers in the green grass.

Lol Batty, an entry with a story! You did make me laugh Lovely piece too, well done! Well that concludes the September Challenge then, it being October then, but don't let that stop anyone posting stuff should they feel suddenly inspired one day!
We'll be back with the winner - or shall I just change someone's forum title and wait for them to notice muahahahahah
