Art Jewely Mag Wire Bracelet

Post  Ashlynn on Sat Feb 04, 2012 6:12 am

This caught my eye in the March edition of Art Jewelery and as it's too cold even this far south to venture for long into the shed I thought I would have a go at some wire wrapping in the warm.

The instructions in the mag suggested fine silver ............I used silver plate, 1mm for the frames and 0.4 for the wraps.

For my first attempt at serious wire wrapping I was pleased although the hook clasp is not to my liking, its not quick to do (well for me anyway) and the old fingers sure know it - fun all the same.

Wow Ashlynn, that really is 'serious' wire wrapping. It's so clever and intricate. I am not surprised your hands are complaining!

I think you've done a great job!

I saw that tutorial and folded the page down for future reference, but that's as far as it got. Smile

Thanks for the lovely comments.

Odonata - I think it took about 10 hours but I could only manage about a hour at a time before my hands cramped up but its something that is easily put down and picked up again.

Lesley - I am forever earmarking tuts for future use then promptly forgetting about them and when I find them again I have gone off them ...

That's beautiful Ashlynn! Unfortunately I've stopped buying Art Jewelry mag now, due to my spending cull. I love the stuff in it but always find it a bit difficult for me.
