New Stuff - Stud Earrings
A tut came up on Frit Happens recently for these, and quite a few have gone and bought the stuff, including myself. I must say, it's a wee bit tricky, but they are quite satisfying when you get them right - you have to have practically the same amount of glass for each one, and control it on a teeny tiny earring post. So I was very excited to get these out of the kiln the other day :-)

Wow, clever stuff! Those are great to look at and they look like the sort of earrings which you would wear all the time. They may have been tricky, but I would say it was time well spent!

Now they are rather nice! Well done.
Is it a bit like making cabs or are they more tiny marbles?

Lols! Thanks guys. Cube is Bradley.
It involves teensy earposts held by crocodile teeth wedged onto 4mm mandrels. You have to melt a bit of glass inbetween some tweezers - (if a bit shocks off you have to start again or they will be different sizes, grrrr swear words...) Then heat post and shove into melty glass, get it blobby and then add decoration. If you get it too hot it's not like making a cab where you can kind of control it, because the ear post is so much smaller it's nigh on impossible. Fun though, and quite satisfactory.
I got 50 pairs of ear posts because it seemed silly paying £5 postage for less than that, so if anyone wants to take some off my hands for a play they're welcome to some. You'll need the clips from a certain ebay seller, and some 4mm mandrels from Mango. I cut one in half as I was finding it too long to work with.
