Ring in the new year! Empty Ring in the new year!

Post  Mead Moon Wed Jan 04, 2012 8:21 pm

I found some multicoloured bells in my stash and decided that their time had come... The base is Persian Star made with aluminium rings.

If anyone knows how to resize images in posts on this forum I would be grateful if they could tell me. I've tried adding width=300px or height =300px but that just stops the image from displaying at all and simply shows the untranslated tag. It works on other fora. scratch

That's odd. I've just tried it too and the BBCode appears not to be working with any additional parameters. I wonder if there's a bit of code missing on the admin panel?

Do you have a photobucket or flickr to host? You could just resize the source that way.

What's Persian Star? Is is an HP 3-1? The bells are a fun idea Smile

PS. forums or fora Wink declines like bellum.

I haven't investigated other options but I posted this up when it worked, see if there's a step you missed?

I love those bells, it's so colourful. Loving your Egyptian bird too! He's stunning.

It's not adding pictures that's not working, it's the sizing option. If you try to add a width or height parameter to the BBCode, it doesn't work and just posts the code rather than the picture. I tried with various hosts and it's not the source, but the code here that seems to be the problem.

I think it may be something not installed or not enabled in the admin panel.

That's different, like the concept, not worked with aluminium rings so will add them to my 'to try list'.

Hi George,

Persian Star is an HP 3-1 variation by Dylon Whyte which uses two different sized rings that more or less sit at right angles to each other, so it's ideal for adding beads. I don't have a photobucket or Flikr account yet, but it's probably time that I thought about it. "fora" oops! My Latin is a bit rusty, but I should have remembered that one.

Lynne, I am only using aluminium because silver is so expensive, but since the bells are made of a base metal there's little point in using silver with them.

Cornish and Lisa, thank you. Unfortunately the bells make a rather soft rattle rather than a nice tinkly noise. Oh well. At least it makes the noise non-obtrusive.

Very vibrant and lots of fun is how I would describe that. The photo is very effective as well.
