My first attempt at uploading a photo!
Hope this works! It's a necklace I made with a pottery shard.

Re: My first attempt at uploading a photo!
Thanks Cornish! Took me a lot of bashing until I got a piece of pottery with a nice bit of the pattern on it.

That's lovely Lisa and what a gorgeous shard. Making a piece of jewellery from broken crocks is a great idea. And what a really pretty piece that is. Great choice of cord too. A good match.
Re: My first attempt at uploading a photo!
Thanks guys, I guess I was lucky to get a nice bit of pottery. Unfortunately I've got a lot of little useless pieces too though.

Very nice, I am not a pink girlie girl, but do like the softness of this.

That's lovely, Lisa, so pretty and unusual and well done on the photo!

Does it have a solid back or a frame?

Re: My first attempt at uploading a photo!
It's a frame, Miz, I drew round the shard and bent some copper wire to fit the shape but a little smaller so that it wouldn't show from the front and soldered the wire prongs to it.

Thats lovely Lisa, like the idea of using smashed pottery very much and the colours of the braid work so well.
Got to ask ............the ends of the prongs are they shaped or flush cut?
Also your cluster bracelet on your flicka page is lovely - are the flowers lucite?

Re: My first attempt at uploading a photo!
Hi Ash, I cut the wire with flush cutters and then filed them. The wire was too thick to fit in my cup burr, which would have been better.
Yes the flowers are Lucite.
Thanks
Lisa

Ooooo, I do like that setting, Lisa. Could see it working with rough gemstone nugget.
Re: My first attempt at uploading a photo!
Thanks Lesley. I've got one with a amethyst nugget on my Flickr.

Oh yeah, bingo! I fancy trying something like that but don't think I've got anything big and chunky.
