Macro Shots

Wasn't quite sure if this is the right place for this as I'm not so much showing off the product as the importance of a good close up photograph to sell your wares.

I recently got my hands on a Samsung Galaxy II phone and apart from being brilliant it's also got a cracking good camera on it. I was taking some macro shots with it on Sunday when I accidentally discovered it also had a zoom on it too whilst on macro. It gets in REALLY close and would be brilliant for you bead makers and metal smiths. Here's a few shots I took of finished jewellery using beads made by one or two of our members.

I can't wait for the weekend now so I can re-photograph everything I have listed on Etsy. I'm sure it'll be a huge improvement on some of the pics currently on there.

Wow they are cracking photos from a phone, they are certainly improving phone cameras.

Great photos and totally amazing that they are taken on a phone. Do you remember when we were glad just to be able to make a quick call on our mobile phones?!

Brilliant photos Gillian. My husband has that phone and has just been trying to find the macro zoom and can't lol!

I found it by accident!
When in the camera mode press the volume bar. It zooms in the lens 4X closer in macro. I'm chuffed with the results. And the phone does SSSSSSOO much else besides. I love it

Thanks Gillian, I'll tell him tonight. Maybe I'll get some photos done quicker if he doesn't have to drag all his camera gear out every time lol.

Gillian, I may have to reprimand you for getting my husband so excited lol!
He has discovered his zoom now, says to tell you that you can use the pinch zoom on the screen as well as the volume button (have no idea what that means).

Pinch zoom...the daughter told me about that too but I haven't got the hang of it yet.
Another thing...you can take a pic and upload it straight to facebook. Then when you're on your pc later you can download it from facebook to your computer and then do what you like with it. I love it
