Commission for a 30th Birthday
Well, I've loved doing this, but not so sure I can take the worry of doing another commission.
The Moon stone was the clients own (this worried me from the start in case i broke it , not that I've ever broken any. but then I've only set 5 stones so far) it was taken from a family heirloom, gulp)
Silver on a gold stem and bezel.

Re: Commission for a 30th Birthday
Wow Batty. REALLY stunning. There's something almost fish-like about it. Or tribal weapon even. Gorgeous!
Re: Commission for a 30th Birthday
Ooh Moonstone! Very brave but a gorgeous stone and a gorgeous setting Batty.

That's different, like said, very tribal. Reminds me of a fish too. Do the three fins move?

The Cleints daughter is a Pisces, I was told she was a real water baby. But all the designs I submitted to do with water, where turned down. This piece believe it or not is supposed to represent a Stylized Leaf. But during the design process I try to concentrate on the person the Item is for. I know the people as they used to be our old neighbour's, so obviously from you comments the water theme is still in there, Brilliant -x-
I like the fact that we all have different perceptions about the piece, VERY interesting, and inspiring to hear you thoughts, Thank you Ladies.
Nan, no they don't move, but oddly enough I made a pendant for my Mother , she is a virgo and that had moving parts, I'll try and get a picture of it whilst I'm down visiting with her.

That is beautiful Batty, I though it was a fern leaf straight away. I wish I got birthday presents like that!

That is just lovely, Batty. I do think you are very brave to take on something like that, especially as the stone has a history, but what a wonderful new family heirloom you have created.
