Star & Dazzle rings
I finally managed it I made two rings and tube riveting lampwork beads.
I learnt a few things while making them, like don't break the best bead and get my self a tool to flare out the tube.

The beads moved / wobbled a bit on the ring so I put a jump ring in under the top rivet and that has made them sit better.

I took photos as I made the rings including the broken bead and I will be posting them on my blog later in the week. I'm also very very tempted to keep the rings for myself.

Thanks Tinker
I used anything I could get my hands on, a old paper craft pokey tool and my centre punch. I need to find out what I should really use so I don't make a mess of it, If I make anymore that is.

Well done Cornish, they look stunning. Pity about the broken bead, but I s'pose it's all good experience. I'd love to know how to do this.
Re: Star & Dazzle rings
Thanks Elaine.
I had a quick search on which tool to use and it's dapping punches I might have to invest in some.

Re: Star & Dazzle rings
Yes, they are useful. I invested in a set last week and have used them a few times already (spinner ring; texturing "moon" pendant; doming)
Re: Star & Dazzle rings
Now them there's bootiful Cornish. What do you mean, "If I make more". You MUST make more.
Thinking of the doming punches....as you're working with glass would the wooden variety be the best for this delicate work or just regular metal ones? I wonder.

Re: Star & Dazzle rings
Thanks Gillian I will certainly make more rings and maybe a pendant especially as I have some tube and spare.
I may invest in a metal set not sure if the wooden ones will be small enough, and I will use the for other things.
