My first silver hook clask
I got myself an assortment of sterling wires about 6 months ago and it's been making me feel guilty ever since for having spent so much money and yet done nothing with it. So last week when I had some time off work I set about having a go at making a clasp.
It's 2mm wire, about 10 cms of it, so it cost approx £2.80. I wish I'd remembered to anneal the wire BEFORE I started working with it and not 15 mins into the project but there we are. After bending and hammering I ended up with this:-

which I think is as good as any of the £6 clasps I could have bought on-line if not better than some I've received from big companies previously.
Anyway, here it is after being used to enhance a lapis lazuli bracelet so you can see the scale of it. It's very chunky.

It's satisfying making your own isn't it and it is just fab. Plus that is a very nice bracelet.

Very organic and I like organic, nice shape to the crook of the hook.
Love the lapis but if it were mine I think I would take the pebble out at the 9 o'clock position, or is it a trick of the camera?

Great clasp, lovely bracelet - and I think that the "pebble" adds a fun touch of quirkyness.
Re: My first silver hook clask
Lovely texture to your clasp, well done and it goes fab with the bracelet.

Ah thanks guys, and it's not a pebble but I can see now that it looks like one. It's another lapis shard but it's pointing up at the lens. I didn't even notice. That's so funny Must take another photo now
