The Katshack
I had a shed built in my teensy little garden at the beginning of the year, so we could use our second bedroom for guests again!

Tinker, when I click onto the links it says "This page is private.Oops! You don't have permission to view this page"
Re: The Katshack
Hmm, is it the first one or the second? The first one is a facebook page so perhaps you have to be logged in first?
Re: The Katshack
First one - Takes me to a flickr page which then tells me the following. "Oops! You don't have permission to view this page." and at this time I am logged into facebook and my yahoo.
Second one - Takes me to a page saying "Not Found, The requested URL /gallery/www was not found on this server."

Re: The Katshack
Huh...ok that sucks!
Well the finished pics are easy, go to www.beadsbykat.co.uk and click on the link for the gallery. In Facebook look for Kathryn Newman jewellery page - will see if I can fix the links tomorrow when I put the pc on

Tink, that's lovely!
Just a question. Where did you get your silversmithing table from?

Re: The Katshack
Aw thanks Sarah! It's a DIY job - two trestles from ikea (£20 each) and a bit of mdf - job done I started out with my anvil/peg combo stuck on a black'n'decker workbench though, lol I even used to have it in front of me sat on the sofa watching the telly...

Re: The Katshack
He heh thanks. I've actually removed that now though as after purchasing more glass I realised it took up more room than was necessary. I glue-gunned some pipe together and I have 3 x the storage (and now 3x the glass, oops!)

Re: The Katshack
Seriously, not only has this tripled my storage, it takes up less space - and you get to have fun with a hot glue gun - bliss!!

Re: The Katshack
Well its been up 2 years, originally for my silversmithing - but having discovered lampworking and not done any silver for the last 12 months I've stopped kidding myself, taken out the silver bench (easy enough to put back tho if I change my mind) and made more room for myself and my ever increasing glass stash! Actually didn't realise I had so much until now!
I also changed the ventilation end piece for a smaller one as the one that tuffers sends out with theirs is hugenormous and takes up wayyyy too much room!
Still work in progress but here's where we are at so far

I took the mirror down at the back there so you couldn't see me in my old fleece and Elmo bobble hat!

Can you guess whats going to gradually happen with those little drawer knobs? Lol.
The silver bench was where this is now, and stuck out over the door opening. It was a squeeze having this and the Lampwork in there!

Re: The Katshack
Really jealous now! What an amazing space to work in. Would have liked to see the Elmo hat as well though
Re: The Katshack
It will be cool once I get all my pics up etc. Actually there is a photo of me and hubby in the Elmo/cookie monster reversible wooly hats on my Facebook. My sister disowned me ha ha.
Re: The Katshack
Looks GREAT. Ilove the arm rests protruding from the workbench. Brilliant idea. Is that standard or your own idea.
And I see what you mean asbout the glass. A lot of glass there.
(Also, can't for the life of me imagine why your sister would disown you over the Elmo hat )

Re: The Katshack
Thanks Gillian
The arm rests were made by a friend of Julie, I think they were going to go into production but it doesn't look like it happened. Its not as sophisticated as the creation station you can get but then it was only 20% of the price lol.
My glass stash would look very pathetic next to anyone else's who has been doing this for some time tho. Sad innit! I did manage to arrange it into colour order, that was fun ;D
(Oh and my sister...hung out with too many laadedaaa posh people. I am a freak for dyeing my hair purple...but we love her anyway!)
