I've never made one! However I think I should start as I've now been asked to make a bracelet without metal too lol
What is the best elastic cord to use? Where can I get it for the best price?
Also any tips welcome..glue for the knot etc Smile

Well! Lol. Can't remember what it's called but when I go to the shedio in the morning I'll dig it out, I don't think there are too many variations, except for the diameter of the thread. In terms of knots you do a sort of a reef knot but an extra wrap each time. Then seal the knot with some clear nail varnish. Hope that makes sense lol

When I made these I used the cheap stuff with chinese writing on the reel but that seemed to deteriorate in a couple of years n snapped.
Elasticity was better quality but still deteriorates after 2 or 3 years. I guess that's the nature of the fabric.
I was recommended to use the elastic thread made of many fibres rather than the single rubbery-thread type but I never did find any and now don't really make stretchies any more. Sorry, not much help.

I have some of the clear elastic I think it's either a beadalon or bead smith product. I also have something slightly more thicker it's white elastic covered with thread, okay for the heavier beads but it frays a lot so you need to keep trimming the ends ( it's on a cotton reel style tube, it came from hobbycraft)
Reef knots are good as is the surgeons knot, I always pull the knots to see if it will come undone.

I'll check the name of the clear stuff. X
