Just a little friendship bracelet

It's been quiet in here for a little while and as I finally got around to taking a load of pics today cos it was sunny I thought I'd just show you this little bracelet I made a few weeks ago.

I've popped it into my Etsy shop this evening and have now discovered that listing late in the day is a much better way to get your work noticed in there. 4 views in as many minutes.
I've been able to grab a Showcase slot on there too for New Years Eve and New Years Day so am keeping my fingers crossed for some positive results. I'll feed back to you all when it's over.

It is lapis, yes Elaine. A lovely tumbled shard of it from Buffy's Beads in London (lovely lovely shop). Also a rondelle of sponge coral and a chalk turquoise bead all on a hammered silver ring and plaited leather. I like making these and have actually sold 2. Wonders never cease eh?

I'm not surprised they sell Gillian it is rather scrummy.

That's gorgeous Gillian, I think you should put it in for the Christmas in Paris comp, the colours are like the French flag.

Lovely design with the hammered ring and I love the colours. I am not at all surprised that they have been selling well.

I am afraid I have some bad news for you ... Buffy's Beads in London has closed down. I got a horrible shock when I last went for a little brouse. They always had such beautiful semi precious stones and lots of well priced silver findings. Some bead shops can be a bit cluttered, but Buffy's was always so spacious and tranquil. It is a great loss. I am not sure if their other shop in Colchester is still going strong, but it is a bit out of my range.

The London shop has gone. Andrew still has the Colchester shop (and is doing the shows) as Monty's beads, and Buffy's is now online (run by Rosie).

Ah I'm devastated. I was trying to get to the London shop earlier this month but that fell through and so I was planning a trip in January instead. A really lovely shop and very spacious one as you say, Pru. And it was nice after spending an hour or so in there choosing my purchases to walk across to the health shop across the way for a 15 minute back rub. Heaven on a stick and all under one roof. A sad loss for me that is.

Odonata, your Friendship Bracelet is so sweet, what cord do you use for the plait?

It's 6 strands of fine leather cord. Not sure of the diameter, probably 1 - 2mm I guess. Easy to work with.
