I went on a beginners' experimental enamelling course yesterday given by Jane Tadrist and these are the trial pieces that I came home with:

The course was great fun and I can hardly wait for the second workshop next Saturday.

Brilliant Elaine, I would love to learn enamelling. I've only used those Efco powders that you heat in the oven.

Lovely Elaine and its great you can go back and do more. That kiln of yours is going to be working overtime.........lol

Did you fire them yourself on the course, the taster day that Ann and I did a while back the tutor was in control of the firing which was a bit disappointing.

Thank you Lisa, Tinks and Lynne. We were able to fire them ourselves, but Jane was always handy for when we wanted a second opinion of when to remove pieces from the kiln. Her kiln has a regulator, but not a controller, so you had to keep looking to see if things were cooked properly.

They're lovely Elaine. I love enamel. I had a play with it when I was at school as the school offered evening classes in all sorts of subjects. I loved it then and have yearned to do it again ever since.
I envy all you ladies with a kiln.

We were supposed to do this on my City and Guilds but lack of resources *rolls eyes* we ended up doing cold enamel instead and to be honest I think this type of enamelling is far better. I love the texture of those. Well done x
