Test Voting system Empty Test Voting system

Post  Tinker Sat Oct 22, 2011 1:40 pm

Ok I'd like you to just test this for me. I want you to vote on something random - I'll make them up in a mo. I am going to be testing for anonymity and also whether you can vote more than once so can you also leave a post saying what you voted for and whether you could vote a second/third etc time, and whether you were able to place votes for more than one different option? I've also disabled the vote cancelling option so if someone could test whether they can cancel their vote that'd be grrrrrreat Laughing

We're all in favour of having a fully democratic system here, and I really hope this works! Very Happy You lot just need to get your entries in now heh heh.

Oh, also - can anyone els see the 'view results' button and if they click it can they see results? Not sure if that bothers me or not - it would be nice if it were a surprise I guess

I could also see the results before I voted if I wanted to, I voted and then I could see the revised result. After I had voted I did not get the option to vote again, even when I came out of the forum and went back in. The fact that I had voted didn't show up as a post, so it remained secret. It all seems to be working well.

Voted for Black.

Only 1 vote allowed.

Can only see results, voting page not available to me so cant vote again.

Hope that helps.

with some polls, once you hit view results, the only way to then vote is to go back in your browser.

Well, Magenta - I was having a flowery moment! But I think George guessed correctly, I was thinking of purple Smile

So - if we were to use this voting system folks, two things spring to mind.
1 - we'd all be able to see the results - would we rather keep it a surprise.
2 - we would actually all have to be trustworthy in the 'not voting for ourselves' stakes, if we have lots of entries then we couldn't suggest that entrants didn't vote at all as there would be no votes lol

The only other system I can see working, although it would be alot more work, would be to send a PM to Cornish with your vote.

Second thoughts on this and its only my opinion so please feel free to ignor me.................

I think voting could be influenced by seeing the results before casting your vote, is there anyway to hide the results untill you have voted?

I like that idea. It's always nice to see the results but after you've voted.

I voted purple but couldn't see the results until after I voted. Tried to vote a second time and the results came up.

I can't find any option to disallow the results before voting as yet - I'll keep looking

Ditto just about all of the above re what happened with my voting. (Knew you'd be purple heehee)
I agree with Ashlynn that seeing the results before voting could influence how you vote. It'd be best if it wasn't open to being viewed at all until the results are posted.

Darn Am I too late. Very Happy

I voted gold and I could see the results before and after.

I also agree with Ashlynn it would be better not to see the results until after voting.
