September Challenge
I have just finished a Mood / Inspiration Board for this months Challenge. In the words of Rolf "can you tell what it is yet?"
This month challenge is Art
art by CornishDragon, on Flickr
Art has a huge wealth of inspiration to draw from be it traditional fine art to modernist, so get those thinking caps on.

Re: September Challenge
Ooh I like!
I'll need to get a Flickr account so I can post a photo. Funnily enough I just make a sunflower last night from brass, what with the old Van Gogh there, I might just do something with that.............

Re: September Challenge
Oooh that's my favourite Monet :-) I've walked across that bridge. So much to choose from but i'm going to try and do something based on Behrens whom I also love.
Re: September Challenge
I fancy trying something in polymer inspired by one of theses Klimt, Erte & Mackintosh. I just need to narrow it down.
Re: September Challenge
Mmmm, Pre-Raphaelites. Would love to come up with something for this challenge. Must try to pull my Bloody finhger out and actually DO something.
Re: September Challenge

Re: September Challenge
I'm so darn broke right now that it's a really good excuse to stay home this weekend and play with me stash. I'm thinking along the lines of a victorian-style chatelain-type thingy as seen Pre-raphael artwork. Very medieaval and romantic. Will get out the plated chains n some beads n see what happens. Thanks for the inspiration you guys. xx
Re: September Challenge
Oh that sounds nice, I've been busy and will be until Sunday. Fancy having birthdays and parties all week I mean don't the kids know I have things to create.
I do have a few ideas hopefully I can make a start on Sunday.

Re: September Challenge
That sounds interesting Odomata, look forward to seeing that!
Not sure if I like my effort, I'll show you anyway but I think I ruined it. Might do another.
By the way, new development for the inspiration challenge, our winner will have the honour of having the title on their profile for that following month - ie Esteemed September Challenge winner or something equally exciting and prestigious. So get creating!!

Ok, here's my efforts so far! Hopefully it needs no explanation, but I've gone with my first love, Monet...

Re: September Challenge
That evokes Monet's water lily pond paintings perfectly. You have some brilliant ideas and the ability to make them into reality.
Re: September Challenge
OOh Tinker, that is gorgeous, you've captured the colours of the water lilies perfectly!

Re: September Challenge
Tinker that's just gorgeous. I knew where the inspiration came from before I read it. So lovely. Is it a ringtopper?
Re: September Challenge
Thankyou no it's just a big focal. I couldn't control that much glass as a ringtopper yet Although I could probably manage a wee one I expect.
Re: September Challenge
I'm very much liking "The Lady of Shallot", but do I have time to come up with something! That be the question. The powers are against me, have frozen right shoulder, haven't produced much in months and if that wasn't enough our computer is sooooooooooooo, slow it's in reverse.
But, hey, they tell me, worst things happen at Sea, we'll see about that

Re: September Challenge
I had a little play this evening with my old stash and quickly put together a Victorian Gothic style necklace inspired by the paintings of the Pre-Raphaelites (My favourites). I wanted to make something on the lines of a chatelaine but as a necklace and am pleased with the results though I know it's only piecing together ready made components and not 100% my own work.
The three large beads are a fantastic true purple with silver foil encased in clear glass. I bought them years ago but have been unable to find a good use for them cos they're quite large and heavy. The fancy chain is just silver-plated chain which has been "antiqued" and came from a Chinese bead shop in Southampton. There's also some rainbow flourite beads in there and half a pair of earrings make up the pendant.

That's very nice Odonata, it has a delicate look and fits brilliantly with the pre- raphalites. Love it x x
